According to the recent data courtesy of DEIK, the value of construction endeavors, started and finalized by Turkish firms in the continent, reached up to a whopping number of $85.4 billion as of the year 2023. On a similar note, direct investment by made by Turkish companies in Africa passed the $10 billion threshold, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations conducted on the basis of mutual dependency.
The yearly volume of trade between Africa and Türkiye increased exponentially in the last two decades, jumping from unremarkable $5 billion in 2003 to 25$ billion in 2021. In the aftermath COVID crisis, which severely obstructed trading networks all around the globe, commerce networks in both Türkiye and Africa quickly recovered to pre-pandemic levels, as suggested by several estimations indicating that the trade volume between the pair may realistically exceed $50 billion mark for the year 2023.
